OPPO Mobile Phone Generations and operating Systems

If we look back in time, we will see that the mobile phones have come a long way. The technology and mobile phones themselves have evolved a lot, especially in the past few years. We will be looking at the mobile phone generations and operating systems, and how it has changed over time. First let us take a look at the mobile phone generations and know what it is.

Mobile Phone Generations:

Let us take a glance at the evolution of mobile phones networks, which took place through out the years. It all started with the simple stuff, but now you can enjoy the power on the palm of your hand.

1G Networking:

The first generation of mobile networks could only let you make phone calls, because they relied on analogue radio systems. They could not send or receive text messages. Cell towers were built to provide signal coverage from a great distance. But the network was not reliable and secure. These were easily hacked and interfered.

2G Networking:

2G network operated on digital signal rather than analogue signal. It improved the network in many ways. You could send or receive text messages as well. And after 1977 GPRS was also introduced, which enabled the users to also send or receive emails on the go.

3G Networking:

Third generation of mobile networks 3G revolutionised the world of mobile networking. It gave much faster speed and more data transmission. You could download files, stream videos, make videocalls and play games. Mobile networking was not only limited to calls and messages, it made mobile networking a social hub.

4G Networking:

4G took the mobile networking one step ahead. It was five times faster than the 3G network. It provided up to 100Mbps speed with less buffering and higher speed. The voice quality is also much clearer. You can connect to the social media in a jiffy, and download files at a lightning-fast speed.

5G Networking:

The latest 5th generation mobile network took the online surfing and browsing, to the next level. With rapid streaming and quick downloading, it gives you power packed performance. It can let you operate your smart cars, smart home devices, and much more.

Operating Systems:

Operating systems are the interface, which manage the hardware units and let users interact with those units easily. With the increase in mobile phone technology, the operating systems also evolved. Let us look at the operating systems.

Android:

Google developed and released Android OS in 2008. This open-source OS uses Linux 2.6 to provide the core services. It has a huge range of libraries, which let the app developers build different applications. These applications are written in Java programming language.

BlackBerry OS:

Research in Motion created this operating system, for their Blackberry phones. It was originally designed for business and focuses, on easy operations. It offers smooth operations and multitasking with ease. It supports the corporate emails and allows wireless activation and synchronization, with Microsoft Exchange, and much more.

WebOS:

WebOS is an operating system, which supports smooth multi-tasking and operations of smart devices including smart TVs. It is based on Linux-kernel. Later it was sold to LG and they primarily made it an operating system for their smart televisions.

IOS:

This operating system was made by Apple and you can find this OS only in iPhones, iTabs, and other Apple products. It is smooth and fast as well. Some people may consider this the most advanced operating system, but it depends on your personal preferences. You can update it from Finder and iTunes.

Symbian OS:

Symbian is an operating system made for smartphones, but it is discontinued now. Initially it was used in old Nokia, Motorola, and other leading phones back in the days. It is based on microkernel architecture. But when iOS and Android operating systems took over the world of smartphones, Symbian OS notability lost its popularity.

Windows OS:

This operating system was made by Microsoft for their computers, laptops, and compact devices. It is now commonly seen in the windows smartphones and your everyday computers.
